EPL: 19 Years Of No EPL Title During The Invisible Era

Arteta boys with shoddy performances towards the end and disappointing second position last term having looked on track to clinch the title for the first time in almost two decades needs to be addressed this season.

Arsenal are nearing to a more balanced team compared to last season interms of squad depth, with acquisition of Kyle Havertz who has been banging in the goals in pre-season, Jurien Timber and Declan Rice are players that will improve Arsenal this season and will also bring more confidence and believed to the team.

A good one for Arteta and the fans is that he has gotten the backing of Arsenal’s board, with their sporting director who was also a former player doing well in transfer market by getting their deal done early and spending over £200 million.

Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Thomas Partey, Martin Odegaard and Leandro Trossard which are not doing badly before the commencement of the new season was an added advantage for the team, but it will be a plus for them if they can replicate that during the course of the season.

What the team have been lacking was the scoring ability in their team, but they have tested and but not trusted Gabriel Jesus, which they need to find scoring center forward that will breeze confidence to the fans and the back room staff.

With Martin Odegaard continuing as a captain was another welcome development, but time will tell if he still has the charisma and the leadership qualities a captain should posess with backing of other players in the squad.

Rice, Havertz and Timber, joining the team, they have brought believe, togetherness, confidence, strong mentality, tenacity and high pressing game to the team, that was seen against Barcelona and they must try to get it done against average sides and top sides in the Premier League.

Watching Arsenal closely in the pre-season matches, Mikel Arteta has to do more in instilling and building the team to the extent for them to compete again and to wrestle the league title from his master as well as its rivals.

Last term, injury, fatigue inconsistency and inexperienced halted Arsenal’s season in the Premier League but if they could gather their hearts and souls together with doggedness and believe, having having new players with European medals joining them, which they can leverage on, their fans should be expecting some exciting season from the North London side comes next season.
