FIFA WWC 2023: African Representatives Suffers Heavy Defeat In Group Opener.

It was huge defeats for the African representatives at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 in Australia and New Zealand.

Super Falcons of Nigeria who has not missed any editions of the tournament are the only side that recorded a clean sheets in match day one.

South Africa are the only African side to record a lone goal at the group opener.

Zambia and Morocco who were debutants from Africa have realized the game and the tactics.

On Sunday one of the debutants from CAF representatives Zambia suffered annihilation in the hands of former champion, Japan.

The Japanese ran riot over their African counterpart as the Zambians woke up to received 5 goals from the Asians.

The match was one sided affair as the Zambians failed to registered a single shot on targets, which soccer pundits said they are in world cup just to make the numbers.

CAF representatives Bayana Bayana of South Africa also suffered a defeat against Sweden.

The South Africans took an early lead in the first half but could not held on as the Swedish came from behind to snatched the victory near at the death.

It was an hearts break for the Desire Elli’s side to lost in that manner after their sumptuous performance against Sweden.

Another debutants Morocco who have invested so hugely in their football suffered defeat in the hands of the Germans.

Two first half goals from highly experience player Popp makes it insurmountable for the women Moroccans team in their first ever match at the world stage.

The former champions completed the rout in the second half with another four goals in which two goals came from an own goal from the Moroccans.

Super Falcons of Nigeria are the only CAF representatives side that did not taste defeat nor scored and conceded in the match day one.

The 11th African champions gave a remarkable performance against the Olympic champions Canada, but it could have ended in a defeat for the West African, thanks to brilliance of their goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie saving a penalty at the early minutes of the second half and resilience defending from the players.
