FOOTBALL: NSPRI Executive Director Prof. Lateef Oladimeji Sanni Endorses a Pre-season Football Tournament In August 2023.

The highly revered Magaji in Ibadan land, Oyo state, and currently the Executive Director of the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI), Prof. Lateef Oladimeji Sanni, has endorsed the staging of the pre-season football tournament organised by the YOLVICMIKE Hellenic Football Academy.

The pre-season tournament, which will attract different clubs and institutions in Kwara State, will commence at the NSPRI football playing ground in the third week of August.

Prof. Lateef Oladimeji Sanni expressed his support for the competition, adding that it is a great opportunity for talent to be discovered for our various national teams.

He called on all and sundry to support sports development in their various communities to enhance physical exercise and mental alertness to pursue their careers.

Professor Oladimeji described the innovation as a welcome development that will encourage the workers and create a platform for the staff and community to co-habit as one great family.

According to the erudite Professor of Food Science and Technology, the football event is part of the social responsibility of the outfit apart from their core values in ensuring crop harvesting, handling,  and storage.

At a short presentation in his Asa Dam Road Office to unveil the commencement of the tournament, The CEO of YOLVICMIKE HELLENNIC FOOTBALL ACADEMY, Gbenga Ajiboye aka Bulu, who retired as a footballer after playing for the Shooting Stars of Ibadan and a stint in professional football in South Africa, thanked the Executive Director of NSPRI for the opportunity to develop grass-roots football in the community.

He promised to organise a befitting tournament where talented footballers would be discovered to join prominent teams in Nigeria.

The colorful ceremony was witnessed by ace sports commentator and Sportspro News Publisher Bayour Issah, whose organization was mandated to run the publicity for the event.
