Kwara Is The Foundation Of Fast Rising Sports “Teqball” In Nigeria – Yaradua

The Chairman of Teqball in Kwara State, Alh Yahyah Yaradua Jimoh has described Kwara State as the foundation of fast growing sports “Teqball” in Nigeria.

Alh Yahayah Yaradua made the assertion while speaking on OFM Yoruba Sports Program “Lori Papa”over the weekend.

Alh Yahayah said that, other states like Edo, Enugu, Oyo, Ogun State and others are ready to challenge the state of harmony in the game.

He also speak on the trio of Victor Oyemade, Funsho Samson and Rasheedat Bukola for their excellent performance at just concluded 2023, 2nd Africa Beach Games held in Hammamet, Tunisia.

It could be recalled that the trio who were Kwara athletes represented team Nigeria in Teqball at the event, where they won gold and silver medals in three different categories.

Alh Yahayah noted that the trio were picked to represent Nigeria for the events for the first time, for their performances in Asaba and they made history for Kwara State and Nigeria in Hammamet, Tunisia.

Yaradua further noted that, for the first time the players will be representing and competing outside of the shore of Nigeria on beach and they did incredibly well despite the weather conditions.

The Chairman also noted that out of 26 countries participated in the events, they won gold and silver medals, noting that it was through hardwork, focus, perseverance and determination from the players, adding that by achieving this great feat, this have written Kwara State in the history books in the game of Teqball in Nigeria.

He praised the trio of Victor Oyemade, Funsho Samson and Rasheedat Bukola for their hard work and determination, charging them to continue making Kwara State and Nigeria proud as they will be preparing for the game at World level later this year in Indonesia.

Alh Yahayah thanked, Chairman Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji for his unwavering supports for the development of Teqball and by providing beach sand to train and prepare the team for the future tournaments.

He however charged state and federal government to give more support, as they are ready to win more medals both at the state and the national level.
