The Kwara State Sports Commission has thrown his weight behind the organizers of the Kwara Closed Table Tennis Tournament saying it is a great task with lots of efforts he appreciated them for the great initiative and bringing the event to Ilorin, the state capital and pledged full support of the commission.
The commendation came during a meeting with the event’s organizers, led by Coach Bola Magaji, Chairman of the Kwara Sports Commission, Mogaji applauded the Kwara state Governor for changing the story of sport in the state and encouraging such initiative.
“The tournament is a fantastic initiative,” Coach Magaji remarked. “It is the first event to be held in the new Table Tennis Arena, which is part of the renovated indoor sports hall. We commend the organizers for their hard work and look forward to a successful outing.”
The tournament is set to commence on Saturday, August 10, and will feature over 80 players competing in eight categories: Para Male Sitting, Para Female Sitting, Deaf Male, Deaf Female, Able Male, Able Female, Para Male Standing, and Para Female Standing.
The state government’s renovation of the indoor sports hall and the establishment of the Table Tennis Arena shows the commitment of the present administration in bringing out the beauty in gift of talented individuals.
The tournament promises to be a significant event for the Kwara sports community, providing a platform for players of various abilities to showcase their skills. Focusing on the people with special needs to advocate to people that there is ability in disability.
