Former Director General of National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Dr. Ishaq Modibo Kawu has called for thorough regulation of the social media space, he reinstated the importance of a healthy social media.
Kawu made this known during an iftar session with the Association Of Kwara Online Media Practitioner (ASKOMP) at his residence in Ilorin on Monday March 3, 2025.
He berates the lack of quality content on social media while he urged journalists to standout and ensure they portray professional qualities.
The media mogul recalled his time as editor at Daily Trust Newspaper, he described conventional media as a platform that has made numerous impact, he added that social media can also be compelled to do better by regulating contents going out from there due to it’s influence on the populace which cannot be overemphasized.
