Nigeria Is The Home Of Football – Ryan Bertrand

Former England and Chelsea star Ryan Bertrand has described Nigeria as the best place where talent beed football in the world.

Bertrand made the assertion with journalists at the ongoing 2024 Kwara State/FA Sport Scouting Program in Ilorin, Kwara State capital on Tuesday, 16 July, 2024.

The Champions League winner, said he was so impressed with what he had seen so far at the scouting program. He noted that coming to Kwara to see talented footballers is so amazing, affirming that the boys have delivered well.

He highlighted that, there will be a turnaround for the execution of the event as the players are performing up to expectations.

Bertrand stressed that, consistency is the key and the program is a long term project, noting that he’s here to help Africa football especially in Nigeria.

“One thing in life you do is all about consistency, definitely I don’t want to be someone that comes to Africa and disappears, I think there’s been too many of them in the past, so we are looking for consistency, we are here looking for long term and help African football especially Nigeria football right now” He said.

While commenting on the future of the scouting program, the Former Southampton defender, cited that, the scouting team will debrief on that in round table discussion on what they have achieved so far, and brainstorm together on the next stage for better things.

“In terms of what’s going to go forward after this we sit down, debrief what we have done and brainstorm on the next stage and hope to do better things”

Ryan Bertrand said that, football is amazing and all about the community as the people came out to give support to the program and enjoy their time.

“Not just football is all about the community as well, we can look around and see how people come out today to support.

The three day scouting program where 14 teams are taking parts have been on since Monday will come to an end on Wednesday.
