El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri Signee Oladipupo Kolawole has assured fans of his readiness to contribute to the team’s success in the Nigeria Premier League (NPFL) 2024/2025 Campaign.
The former Kwara United goalkeeper made this statement on Thursday during an interview on the Yoruba sports program “BeBe Lórí Òdàn,” hosted by the award-winning sports journalist Olusola Alabi, popularly known as “Ijoba Sports,” on Adamimogo 105.1 FM in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.
Oladipupo, the skilled shot-stopper, discussed his journey in football, which began at a young age despite initial opposition from his parents.
“My passion for football started early. Although my parents did not want me to play, I persisted, and I thank God for where I am today,” he revealed.
The former Nigeria U-20 goalkeeper described his football journey as one marked by grace and perseverance, noting that transitioning from amateur to professional levels is a significant achievement in his career.
“I always strive for the best and have never doubted my progress. Each club I have joined has been another opportunity to grow and make an impact. My debut for Nigeria U-20 felt like a dream and greatly boosted my confidence and professionalism. Representing my country is a great honor, and I am committed to continuing to give my best,” he added.
Oladipupo, who hails from Oyo town, Oyo State, has previously played for COD United FC, Remo Stars FC, Rising Star FC, Afe Babalola FC,Bendel Insurance and Kwara United among others.
Regarding his new role with El-Kanemi Warriors, Oladipupo expressed his readiness to contribute to the club’s success in the upcoming NPFL season. He urged fans of the Maiduguri-based team to support them, assuring that the Warriors will perform excellently beyond expectations.
He also offered advice to aspiring young goalkeepers, emphasizing the importance of dedication and hard work. “Always strive to do your best and be prepared. Commitment and hard work are essential to achieving greatness in life,” he concluded.
