Offa Volleyball Club Will Continue To Win Tournaments, Players Ready To Dominate National Teams – Coach Ajeigbe

The Head Coach of Offa Volleyball Club in Kwara State, Coach Olayinka Suleiman Ajeigbe has described the game of volleyball as one the sports that needs proper grassroots development in the state and Nigeria at large.

Coach Ajeigbe made this assertion while speaking during the interview on radio yoruba sports show on Monday.

Coach Ajeigbe said, that the passion he had for volleyball and the love forever for the young people in Offa community and the State triggers him to develop young individuals through Volleyball.

He further explained that, Kano and Plateau State, are the leading states in the game of volleyball but presently the Kwara State has already upstaged them and will continue in putting more hard work, determination and consistency.

The National U-17 Volleyball Coach stressed that, the best male and female players in the country are from Kwara, adding that Kwara Volleyball players will continue to be representing the country for major championships in Africa and the World.

Coach Ajeigbe noted that Nigeria is closing on Ghana and Tunisia but our grassroots development must be working if truly we are ready to upstaged them.

He asserted that anyone who has interest and want to make career in the game of volleyball must start from tender age for them to have a basic trainings, charging schools both the private and government to introduce the game of volleyball in the schools for the development of it.

He thanked the Kwara State Sports Commission under the leadership of Mallam Bola Mogaji for his supports and urging him to do more and to give necessary supports through grassroots development.

Coach Ajeigbe also thanked the commissioner for works in Kwara State Hon. Rotimi Iliasu for his unwavering supports for the development of the game through organizing international volleyball tournament in Moro local government of the state.

He however, advised parents and guardians to allow their kids to participate in sporting activities and to develop their career in the game of volleyball.

It can be recall that Offa Volleyball Club emerged the Champions of the 2022 Volleyball League at the Indoor of Ondo Sports Complex in Akure in September as they defeated Nigeria Customs Service 3-2 (25-26, 23-25, 25-17, 17-25, 13-11)
