The Chairman, Kwara State Squash Association, Professor Mikail Olayinka Buhari has expressed his happiness over the development of Squash in Kwara State.
Prof. Buhari was delighted during an interview with pressmen at the 5th Ex-Pro Squash Tournament in Ilorin, capital of Kwara State on Saturday.
Buhari noted that, the tournament is one of a kind and the most befitting that could happen in Kwara.
He described Kwara State Squash Court as the best in the country and West Africa, noting that it’s been a long they have been clamouring for it.
“This is the most befitting that could happen to us, there’s no where in Nigeria and West Africa that you can see this kind of edifice, it has been long we have been clamouring for this” He said.
Buhari highlighted that, the future is bright for the game of Squash, if other Governors should emulate Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasak for providing the edifice and unwavering supports to aid the development of the game.
Prof. Buhari, hailed the President of Squash in Nigeria for his tremendous support for moving around the six geo-political zone for the development of the game.
He however urged parents and guardians to allow their children to participate in sports.
The 5th Ex-Pro Squash Tournament which was organized by Ex Squash Players Association of Nigeria in conjunction with Kwara State Sports Commission for U-11, 13 and 17 started on Thursday 15th and ends on Saturday 17th August, 2024.
