Sport Engage And Impact Youth Positively – Delta State NSCDC Boss

Mall. Suleiman Agboola Jimoh, the Delta State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has praised Team Kwara’s outstanding performance at the 8th National Youth Games (NYG24) in Asaba, especially in swimming, where the team secured multiple medals.

He highlighted Kwara’s impressive achievement despite the state’s lack of natural water bodies, positioning it as a potential hub for swimmers.

Jimoh emphasized that sports play a vital role in crime reduction and societal development, particularly through initiatives targeting young people. By exposing teenagers to sporting events, he believes the country can foster discipline and promote positive values.

“Sports play a vital role in the growth of our country, and further investment in this sector will undoubtedly help strengthen the nation’s security apparatus, fostering peace and order.”

Drawing from his own experience as a former footballer, he reflected on how sports have transformed from being purely recreational to a significant business.

He also praised the Delta State Government for ensuring the safety of the event participants through effective collaboration with security agencies and applauded Kwara’s Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his investments in the sports sector, which he views as essential to maintaining societal stability.

Jimoh encouraged sustained efforts in sports development, hoping that Kwara will continue producing notable athletes like Atanda Musa and Sunday Bada.
