Promising Nigerian female boxer, Adijat Gbadamosi, popularly known as ‘Dija,’ expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering support she has received from sports journalists.
In a statement released by her PR representative, Olusola Alabi, also known as ‘Ijoba Sports’ Dija highlighted the crucial role sports journalists play as the voice of athletes and called for continued support from the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), especially the Osun State chapter led by Mr. Timothy Agbor.
Hailing from Ede town in Osun State, Gbadamosi urged SWAN chapters nationwide not to relent in their support.
She acknowledged the significance of sports Journalists in showcasing athletes’ activities through news content, emphasizing the need to cherish and appreciate their dedication.
Expressing her aspirations, Dija revealed her desire to meet with the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, seeking assistance from the state government.
The young boxer is determined to defend her title and is set to face Salimat Tibesigwa on February 17th, 2024, at the Conference Center in Awka, Anambra State.
