Cristiano Ronaldo has been banned and fined as a result of his response to Lionel Messi taunts during Al-Nassr’s clash with Al-Shabab.
Ronaldo reacted to those in the stands after a dramatic 3-2 win over their Saudi Pro League rivals and was caught on camera appearing to aim an obscene gesture towards his critics in the crowd.
An investigation into Ronaldo’s actions was launched, with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation moving quickly to assess all of the evidence available to them.
The SAFF has now announced that CR7 must serve a one-match ban while also paying a 30,000 Saudi Riyals (£6,300) fine.
