Gender Discrimination Is Part Of Challenges In My Football Career – Greatness

A versatile female footballer, Osayomore Esohe Greatness popularly known as “The Bull”, who recently featured on the weekly interesting online interactive session tagged “One-On-One with ijoba sports” and has narrated her journey so far in the round leather game.

The Bull as fondly explained alot about her football journey and pointed out some challenges she has met also.

She said ‘My passion for football started fully in year 2020 and I really made up my mind to go far in it, although it’s not something easy in the beginning but with commitment and dedication, I never for once regret chosen football as career’

Osayomore Esohe Greatness who hails from Benin City, Edo State stated that Wendie Renard, the center-back and captains both Division 1 Féminine club Lyon and the France national team is her role model in the game of soccer.

‘As a central defender, my role model is Wendie Renard, I always watch and follow her great performance and she’s always motivating me to do more and never relent. I have always believed that my hard work will surely pay one day’ Greatness said.

The youngster who’s currently playing for Bravehearts FC in Edo State as a central defender explained her challenges in football.

‘Gender discrimination is part of my challenges when I started playing football and also my friends discouraged me but I don’t mind them, I keep pushing it and setting a big view ahead with a mentality that nothing can stop me at this level because my time and energy is on round leather game and with my parents’ full supports, I will definitely achieve’ Greatness emphasized.

While charging the government to show concern and support for the athletes at grassroot level, Greatness revealed that her focus is to represent Nigeria at the national level by playing for the nation’s female team.
