KYL: Destiny Adebayo Scores Late Winning Goal To Give Okaa Sports FA Victory Over KFA In A Thrilling Encounter

Okaa Sports FA secured a second victory in the ongoing Kwara Youth League defeated former champions Kwara Football Academy.

The thrilling keenly contested encounter was played at the KFA pitch on Friday afternoon.

Okaa Sports FA showed their mettle and bravery in the early minutes of the game pegging back their opponents on several occasions.

The attack minded approach gave them the cutting edge in front of goal.

Nurudeen Sodiq opened the scoring for Okaa Sports FA with a cool finish in the 20 minutes to put his team in the driving seats.

Both teams went toe-to-toe showing more of their attacking intent as the referee signalled the end of first half.

After the restart of the second half, Okaa Sports FA began from where they left off surging forward to extend their lead.

The tempo of the game increased as both teams showed grits, passion and energy.

KFA who looked more promising in the attack in the second half got an equalizer through Saminu Kachala..

Still at 1-1 both sides showed more attacking intent as they left the spectators on the egde of their seats.

But it was Okaa Sports FA who found the winner after Destiny Adebayo pounced home from a resulting free-kick near at the death to give his team the victory.

It was the second victory for Alhaji Abdullahi Adelodun’s side after a nailed bitting victory in the opener against Abraysports FA..

Head Coach, Michael Simeon praised the boys for the hard work, resilience and determination, noting that it was a hard fought victory going by the caliber of their opponents.

He noted, that the team will not rest on their laurels as they will go for victory in their next match.

Simeon, said other teams should be worried for his team as they are ready to face any sides.

Chairman of the club, Alhaji Abdullahi Adelodun thanked God for the victory, hailed his boys for the showing of bravery against the former KYL champions.

He noted that, KFA is not an easy side, praised the boys despite playing with an empty stomach due to the fasting for the mouthwatering encounter.

Okaa Sports FA now have two wins in two games in the ongoing Kwara Youth League.

They were pitted in group B, alongside KFA, Abraysports FA, Barca Kiddies, Great Glorious FA and Alabama FA.
