Nigeria Players To Help Benin Republic Develop Football League- Agbaje

Football Agent, Abdulmajeed Agbaje says the massive influx of Nigeria players will help develop Championnat National du Bénin in Benin Republic.

Agbaji made the assertion during a media parley with Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State Chapter on Monday.

Agbaje who doubles as the Chief Executive Officer of Greenboin Concept said there is nothing wrong in the movement of NPFL players to Benin League to seek greener pastures.

He said, “Nigeria possesses some of the best legs in the world and I can tell you for free that Nigeria football players will help develop the Benin Premier League known as Championnat National du Bénin.

“From the Nigeria Professional Football League, to the Nigerian National League to the Nationwide League One/Two down to the various academies scattered across Nigeria, you’ll discover that every player on the street will not play in Nigeria. When other opportunities come knocking, we have to export players to other African Leagues.

“Razak Omotoyossi is an example of a Nigerian player who went to Championnat National du Bénin, impressed the football authorities and got a National Call-ups”.

Agbaje who is the manager of Kwara United Technical Adviser, Kabir Dogo noted NPFL is improving on season basis and that alone has contributed to how neighbouring countries are scrambling for Nigerian players .

“We have one of the best leagues in Africa and I want to State it categorically that there is nothing bad in Nigerian players playing in Benin League, whether Benin League is good or not, let’s NPFL players feel it”

He added that the transfer of players in the league depends on the quality and needs of the club, explaining that Nigerian players moving to Benin should not be a source of worry rather position the country as a hub talent discovery in the continent.

Agbaji, however, solicited for support of critical stakeholders for Coach Kabir Dogo ahead of the 2024/25 NPFL season.
