NPFL: Enyimba Playmaker, Akanni Elijah Shines As Akwa UTD Records Another Defeat

Enyimba skillful midfielder Akanni Elijah is delighted with the victory over Akwa Utd in the rescheduled match day 3 encounter of the NPFL.

Elijah who started for his side gave a sumptuous performance against the Promise Keeper.

The cagey encounter was played at Enyimba International Stadium in Aba on Wednesday where the home side defeated Akwa United 1-0.

He dazzled and marshalled the midfield with his skills, power and stamina.

Elijah who has been an intriguing part of Yemi Olarenwaju led side, noted that it was a very tough game for the team despite playing at home.

Debutant, Austin Onyemaechi broke the deadlock for Enyimba via Imo Obot’s corner in 76 minutes to seal the victory.

He stated that, with hard work and resilience, the team kept believing to snatch the victory.

Akanni Elijah affirmed that, it was an important victory for the team after coming from a defeat against Rivers United.
