Okaa Sports FC have qualified to the final of Kwara United Fans Club Football Tournament defeating Excellence Skills 2-1 in the second semi-final of a pulsating encounter of the tournament.
The highly tension soaked encounter was organized to celebrate 3 years in Office of the Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission Coach Bola Mogaji played at KFA pitch on Thursday.
Okaa Sports FC drew the first blood in the early minutes of the game with a nice finish.
But Excellent Skills levelled the terms with a sublime goal.
The tempo of the closed contested game increased with both teams showing grits, passion and energy as the game ended 1-1 in the first half.
After the restart of the second half, Okaa Sports FC with their attacking intent pressed and searched for a match winner.
The hard work later paid off in close on the half hour mark as Okaa Sports restored the lead in a wildly jubilations from the fans and supporters.
Skills showed their fighting spirit as they pressed for an equalizer but Okaa Sports FC stood firm and resolutely at the back to defend the lead to qualify for the final.
Okaa Sports FC will face Barrier SC in the final in what will be another cracker after both teams met in the group stage with Barrier SC narrowly win by 3-2.
Prior to the final, Okaa Sports defeated KFA, Abraysports in the group tagged as group of death.
Chairman of Okaa Sports FC, Alhaji Abdullahi Adelodun hailed his boys for the hard work, focus and showing of fighting spirit and determination.
He commended the organizers for hosting the tournament, noting that they have done well in terms of the standard of the tournament with the fair officiating.
Adelodun also praised the media for tremendous reporting of the tournament, thanking the fans and supporters for their supports since the tournament commenced.
Alhaji Abdullahi Adelodun however, charged the boys to go for the victory in the final.
The final of the tournament is slated for 12th October, 2024 at the Main bowl of the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin by 4pm.
