Azeegazy 7-Aside Football League have been described as a tournament organized to foster unity among the youth of Oke-Ogun ward in Ilorin South Local Government of Kwara State.
President of Oke-Ogun Ward Community Development Association Mallam Abdulrasheed Olawale Akande stated this during an interview with journalists on Saturday 31st, August 2024.
Mallam Akande who represented Sheikh Azeegazy, noted that the tournament is organized in honour of Fadilat Sheikh Yahyah Adebayo Azeegazy for his efforts and immense contributions to the development of youths and communities in Oke-Ogun ward.
The tournament kicked-off on Saturday at Wesley Primary School Field, Irewolede, Ilorin saw four zones from the ward “Ajanaku, Isale-Koto, Edun and Awoli” are participating in the tournament.
Sheikh Azeegazy unwavering supports and contributions are enormous through empowering of youths and taking care of elderly people in the communities.
He noted that, this motivated them to organize the tournament to honour.
Member of the organizing committee, comrade Yusuf Abubakar said that, the tournament will encourage youth from social vices to involve in nefarious activities.
Mallam Abdulrasheed Olawale Akande, however promised that, Sheikh Azeegazy will be present at the grand finale to present tangible gifts and coveted trophy to the winner.
In the opener Ajanaku zone defeated Isale-Koto 1-0 and the second game between Edun and Awoli zone ended in a 1-1 draw.
The action will continue next week Sunday at the same venue.
