FIFA-U20 World Cup: Flying Eagles Finally Landed In San Juan For Round 16 Tie After Long Delay At The Airport.

Ahead of the round 16 tie between Nigeria’s U-20 Flying Eagles and Argentina.

The players and officials of the team have finally landed in San Juan from Buenos Aires for the round 16 fixtures.

NFF twitter handle reported that the team were landed exactly 9am on Monday morning after their flight was delayed for 9 hours until 6pm.

No explanation was given for the delayed according to the report by the NFF on their twitter handle.

The Flying Eagles won their first two games, defeating Dominican Rep 2-1, Italy 2-0 but lost to Brazil by 2-0 in their last group match.

While the hosts Argentina qualified for round 16 after they defeated Uzbekistan 2-1, Guatemala 3-0 and a resounding victory over New Zealand by 5-0.

The round 16 tie will comes up on Wednesday by 10pm.

The last time the two teams met was in 2005 U-20 World Cup in Netherlands in which Flying Eagles lost to the Argentine by 2-1 in Final courtesy of Lionel Messi’s two penalties.
