Kudos mother, Mariama Suleman sold local delicacies like Tuo Zaafi, Dawa, Zobo leaves, Dankali, Garri, Rice, Beans, grounded pepper, etc in the open market at Nima to feed her family.
According to Kudus, he never went a day hungry thanks to his hardworking mother.
Kudus was only 10 when a local coach named Joshua “Ayoba” Awauh, manager of Strong Tower FC saw Kudus playing on the dusty streets of Nima and saw how good he was inviting him to train with his team.
Even as a 10yr old, Coach Ayoba called him “World Best” because of how gifted he was even at such a young age and this was the step that started his story.
Kudus wasn’t just good on the pitch, he was also brilliant in class and he showcased his brilliance in both fields when an NGO organized a tournament named “Books and Boots”.
He was so good in the tournament that a scout from “Right To Dream Academy” approached the NGO to allow them speak to Kudus parents about coming to play for Right To Dream Academy.
He was only 12 when he left home to go play for Right To Dream Academy.
Right To Dream Academy was founded in 1999 by former Manchester United Head Scout in Africa, Tom Vernon.
Since the academy was founded, Tom Vernon has changed the lives of many young aspiring Ghanaian footballers as he took them into his home, fed, gave them shelter and trained them in school.
Mohammed Kudus was one of the recipient of this goodwil.
In 2018, Tom Vernon became the President of Danish club, FC Nordsjaelland and knowing how talented Kudus is made sure his Danish club signed him from Ghana.
Kudus scored 11goals in his debut season and that made Eredivisie, one of the biggest teams in Europe when it comes to grooming talents, Ajax to sign him for £8M in 2020.
In Ajax, it didn’t get easy, he was nominated for the Golden Boy award after his first 6 months in Ajax before he had an injury that kept him out for long.
Even when he was fit, Former Ajax winger, Anthony was ahead of him in the pecking order but he kept fighting for a place in the team which he got after Antony left for Manchester United.
The following season Kudus scored 18 goals, shining in both the league and Champions League.

Before his presentation, he insisted on having his mother and siblings flown down to West Ham to witness his unveiling and what a sight it was.
