Kwara State Teqball Association has request for more supports from the state government ahead of the Teqball world championship qualifiers scheduled to hold in September.
Kwara State was selected to host 2023 Teqball world championship qualifier by the Nigeria Teqball Federation under President Engr Habu Gumel.
The qualifier was earlier scheduled for 2nd – 10th, September 2023, but later postponed due to a clash in accomodation allocation and some other logistics.
However the event will be hold at the Indoor Sports Hall of the University of Ilorin and Kwara State Stadium respectively has now been shifted to September 16 – 24th, 2023.
This is the first time Kwara State will be hosting a championship of this magnitude in fast rising sport “Teqball”.
Recalled that the game of Teqball has put kwara on the world map as kwara athletes claimed gold and silver medals in several tournaments they have participated both at the national and the continent.
The stakeholders praised kwara state government under the state governor, His Excellency Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasak for his supports to the development of sports in kwara and for allowing the championship to be hold in the state.
They also showered enconioms on the Executive Chairman of Kwara State Sports Commission, Mall. Bola Mogaji for his unwavering supports to the development of the game and association in the state.
The stakeholders however pleaded to the Kwara State Government for supports for the hosting of the championship in the state.
