NPFL MD 3: Ikorodu City Drags Kwara United To Snatch First Ever Top Flight Point In Ilorin

Kwara United recorded another disappointing result as they were held to a goalless draw by new comers Ikorodu City, in the match day 3 encounter of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The match which was played at Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin on Sunday under the floodlights saw the home side missing some begging chances in the early minutes of the game.

It would have been an ending game for the visitors but the home side were not clinical enough in front of goal with Emmanuel Ogbole and Shola AbdulRaheem did not bury their chances.

The away side grew into the game with confidence and cautiously played from the back to keep the home side at bay.

Changes made by coach Tunde Sanni in the second half didn’t provide any creative spark as his team lack confidence and idea on what to do with the ball in the final third.

Close to the end of the game, Kwara United pressed and searched for an opener but the visitors prevented them from scoring as the match ended in stalemate.

It was the first ever points for Ikorodu City in the top-flight and a disappointing results for Kwara United after failing to win their first two home matches of the new campaign.

Kwara United will travel to Yenagoa to face Bayelsa United in the match day 4 as Ikorodu City will file it out with Nasarawa United at Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos which will be their first home match in the NPFL.
