We Admit There Is Hunger In The Land

THIRTY- Six state Governors under the aegis of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF have admitted and accepted the fact that Nigerians are hungry, saying that they are aware that the people are hungry rising from a meeting in Abuja that lasted yesternight to the early hours of yesterday, the Governors while sympathising with Nigerians, said that they appreciate the reforms being carried out by President Bola Tinubu.

Meanwhile, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Mele Kolo Kyari who briefed the Governors at the meeting disclosed that there is total subsidy removal as well as the challenges facing the corporation, and his plans to alleviate the sufferings of our people, occasioned by the increase in pump prices.

Speaking with Journalists at of the meeting, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State disclosed that it was the prayer of the governors that “as soon as possible, that the relief we are looking for should come so that we can begin to leverage on the benefits of the reforms and then have a betterment general Uzodinma said, ” We deliberated on issues affecting the country, the forum received a presentation from the African Medical Center of Excellence, funded by the African Bank, a world-class hospital, and specialized techniques and latest and modern equipment to be managed by first-class medical experts in special areas of treatment on oncology, cardiovascular issues, haematological cares, and other comprehensive general medical research.

The governors are committed to supporting the African Bank for this initiative. They are going to work with King’s College Hospital London, and it’s going to be a referral centre of excellence for all medical challenges. We also received the Supervisory Officer of NMPC, who briefed us on the total subsidy removal. And the challenges facing the corporation, and his plans to alleviate the sufferings of our people, occasioned by the increase of prices. We saw him and also interpreted some of the presentations he made.
