The head coach of the Ibadan-based professional football club, Adeyemi FC, Kolawole Emmanuel, also known as “Coach Drey,” has dedicated his award as Coach of the Tournament in the just-concluded 2024 Oyo State Federation Cup to his club’s president, Mr. Abiodun Adeyemi, widely known as “Baba Abe.”
Coach Drey revealed in a statement that the club’s president is the strong pillar behind his performance in the round leather game, and the award is dedicated to him.
“Baba Abe has been a solid support from the beginning of my coaching career until today, a father who always wants the best for me. Without his support, I couldn’t have reached this stage. He sponsored the team with all his efforts and made me always feel comfortable. Whenever I look back, I see him behind me, and I won’t relent in making him proud. This award is for him,” he disclosed.
The Osun-born gaffer appreciated his coaching crew, explaining that he is blessed with competent and supportive colleagues.
“I won’t forget my coaching crew; they played a very significant role which I can’t underestimate. Our collective efforts won this award for me. Coach Dunmoye Olatunde and Coach Yusuf Gbadegeshin, I really appreciate them because they always gave me their full support, and we worked as a family,” he added.
The young and competent gaffer called on the sports stakeholders in the state to continue creating platforms for young talents to grow, as he maintained that building future stars is part of Adeyemi FC’s plans in the round leather game.
