Okaa Sports Football Club of Ilorin, have booked their place in the next round of Emir’s Cup 2023 eliminating Unilorin Warriors by 1 nil.
The match which was one of the round of 16 ties played on Sunday at University of Ilorin Secondary School field, one of the venues for the tournament saw a thrilling encounter.
The encounter saw attacking intents from both teams, making the spectators unglued from their seats to applauded every begging chances from both sides.
But the only goal from the pulsating and cagey encounter came from Abdulrahman Abdulrasak, named sake of the Executive Governor of Kwara State to seal the victory for the quarter-final berth for Alhaji Abdullahi Adelodun side by 1-0.
Unilorin Warriors who won all their group stage matches and bragging on their group stage form suffered an elimination by the solitary goal from Abdulrasak.
Abdulrasak Abdulrahman, the goal scorer of the encounter while speaking to the journalists in post match interview expressed his happiness over the goal.
” I’m excited because it was my first goal in the tournament” He said.
Also the captain of the victorious side, Omoyosi Yusuf Abiodun charged the team to remain focus, for them to win the tournament for their chairman.
The Chairman of the club, Alhaji Abdullahi Adelodun was full of joy over the victory.
He appreciated the players and encouraged them to remain calm and never relent as they await Sunshine FC in the quarter-final.
