Adijat Gbadamosi a determined boxer from Osun State is gearing up to defend her hard-earned ABU Champion title, in her upcoming match against Salimat Tibesigwa from Uganda.
In an exclusive interview on a Twitter space, she revealed her inspiring journey and dedication to her sport.
When asked about her inspiration, Adijat shared that her stubborn nature and unwavering support from her father have been driving forces in her life.
“Not that I started from child, but from my childhood have been a very stubborn girl and I also have the support and encouragement of Dad. There was a time I thought of giving up especially the period I lost dad” she said.
Despite facing challenges, including the loss of her father, she persevered showcasing her determination.
Expressing her readiness to defend her title, Adijat emphasized the rigorous training regimen she has undertaken, dedicating countless hours to honing her skills and strategy.
Her confidence in facing her opponent was evident as she asserted that her rival is no match for her, having closely studied her fights “Have watched her fight, she’s not a match for me” she asserted.
Despite her success, Adijat highlighted the lack of government support for upcoming athletes, stressing that support often comes only after one has achieved recognition in the sport.
She urged the media to continue their current support and expressed openness to a radio tour to further engage with her fans and community.
When questioned about how she balances her personal life with boxing, Adijat acknowledged the challenges but emphasized the importance of having a strong support system.
Looking ahead, Adijat shared her ambitious goal of becoming a world champion and leaving a lasting legacy in the sport.
She exudes confidence and determination as she sets her sights on achieving greatness in the boxing world.
