Kwara Plays Squash Better – Ajetunmobi

Kwara State have been described as the home of Squash in Nigeria.

A veteran in the game of Squash, Mr Muftaudeen Ajetunmobi stated this while speaking with journalists at the 5th Ex Pro Squash Tournament in Ilorin on Saturday.

Ajetunmobi highlighted that, for Squash to develop in Nigeria, it has to be developed from the grassroots, noting that Kwara is the best place to start.

He said “It has been long we know Kwara State to be a home of Squash, and that’s why we are here to support the tournament”

While reacting on the newly reconstructed court, He described the Squash Court as world class edifice, affirming it’s best in the country. “I’m very proud seeing the state of this place, it’s a world class edifice, best in the country”.

Ajetunmobi showered encomiums on the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasak for his unwavering support to the development of sports, especially, Squash.

He also extended his appreciation to the Executive Chairman Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Mogaji for organizing the tournament to discover and harnessing the talent at the grassroots to the outer world.

Mr Muftaudeen Ajetunmobi who hails from Kwara and also a veteran squash player from Yellow Dot Squash Club of Lagos State, expressed his confident that Nigeria will compete at the game of Squash in Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
