Okaa Sports FC secured semifinals berth at the ongoing 3rd edition Jafak Cup 2024 defeating Classic FC by 1-0.
The encounter was played at the KFA Golden Pitch, Kwara State Stadium Ilorin on Tuesday morning.
The two sides came with a game plan with minimal chances created in the early minutes.
In the half hour mark Okaa Sports FC were the better side as in the encounter as they grow into the game with confidence, composure, intensity, energy and determination posing for a threat in the goal area of their opponents.
Classic FC who have been high flying in the competition also put few threats in the game.
Lukman Gago who has been scoring goal for his side was the hero, scoring his third goal of the tournament with a fine finish to put his team ahead.
After the restart of the second half Classic FC came out gun blazing to search for an equalizer but Okaa Sports FC tamed every of their efforts on goal.
Close to the tail of the match, Classic FC didn’t let their tools down going forward to put the game in the extra time but Okaa Sports FC defence remain resolute at the back defending with their heart and soul to book their semifinal berth.
Chairman of the club, Alhaji Abdullahi Adelodun praised his boys for showing hard work, resilience and determination to defeat their opponents, charging them not to relent and go for the coveted trophy.
Okaa Sports FC will play Abray Sports FC in the semifinals on Friday, 8th March at KFA Golden Pitch Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin.
