Residents of Abimbola in Oloje Area, Ilorin west local Government area of Kwara state have appealed to Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq to complete the Oloje-Babalode road project which has been Abandoned for the past one year
During a massive protests by the residents of the Community over the development, The Secretary of Oloje Community, Mr Hanafi Alajere, said the road project has been Abandoned since 2022 and the community has been lodging series of complaints to the to the ministry of works but no positive response up to this moment.
He noted that lots of Government properties ranging from school, hospital had been destroyed by erosion due to the collapsed drainages in community.
The President of Oloje youth Development Association, Mallam Ibrahim Abdulwaheed said the community has recorded many deaths due to flood caused damaged bridge that connects many drainages in the area.
An Elderly Business woman, said most her goods and property had been destroyed by flood and appealed for financial from the state Government.
The approved length of the project was 1.1 km, while the average width was 6.5 meters.
