Head Coach of SGFC Athletics Mashood Yakub has hailed the quality of his Centre Forward Samuel Bamigboye describing him as one for the future, a complete attacker who can score any kind of goals to condemn opponents to defeat and victory for his team.
Samuel Bamigboye joined SGFC Athletics SC after a three year stint with ABS ILORIN FC and became one of the first names on coach Mashood Yakub list helping the club to NLO Playoffs scoring four goals in six games and also made the highest goals scoreline with his Club during AMAPRO Bet9ja Tournament held in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Speaking to the club’s media officer after SGFC Athletics bagged the Ciroma Championship Cup with huge success, Coach Mashood said, “Samuel Bamigboye is a top – talent every coach would want to have in his team. I enjoyed working with him before his temporary departure for more developmental programs”. He will be back with the SGFC Athletics SC squad to form a formidable attack during the upcoming Scouting programs before his departure for a yet to be disclosed next future engagement.
” Samuel’s quality is rare for his age, he is sound technically and reads the game perfectly well, with good positioning in 18 yard box, he is a player who will fit in whatever pattern any coach wants him to play, I am certain he will be a good addition for any team that gets his signature.
Coach Mashood on if the striker was missed in the Ciroma cup. He said, “Every coach would want to have his best player available but you know here at SGFC Athletics we are business minded so we should expect more of our best players leaving so I wouldn’t say I miss him because we have some quality players who actually delivered when it matters most and they get the job done,”.
” Imam Abdulgafar was pushed forward to the attacking zone from the midfield and he delivered scoring delicious goals at the just concluded football tournament, so for Samuel Bamigboye it’s a day we have expected, we know it’s all for good and we hope to have him back soonest while his football engagement with SGFC Athletics lasts; because we will surely need him among his mates during the upcoming scouting programs”, he concluded.
Samuel Bamigboye recorded eighteen goals and two assists in twenty three games for SGFC Athletics SC during 2022/2023 season.
