…….Commission Boss orders Workers To Stop Working
Ahead of August 26th NPFL kick off, Latest City News gathered that the Executive Chairman of Kwara State Sports Commission, Mall. Bola Mogaji has ordered workers in the stadium who are packing the excreted thuf at the mainbowl to stop working and ordered the immediate closure of the gates to ensure the lorries don’t move out with the removed turf.
A sports enthusiast, Babatunde Sodiq lamented the act of the Executive Chairman of Kwara State Sports Commission, describing it as a move to derail the growth of football in Kwara.
However, the media officer of the commission, Alh. Feruke Yusuf Bello confirmed that the incident through a reaction on a WhatsApp platform “Kwara Sports Forum, saying “the Commission has every right to stop any activity going on in the stadium without seeking clearance.”
Meanwhile as we have earlier reported that the Executive Chairman of the Commission in an interviewed said a proposal had been submitted for the renovation of the stadium, but the Executive Governor of the State Mall. AbdulRazaq Abdulrahman said he won’t do the scoreboard but will fix the dressing and the playing turf.
Meanwhile, a stakeholder unraveled that the cause of the fresh decision to stop workers, stating that the it is because the renovation of the project was not approved for the commission boss to handle.
The stakeholder also berated the Squash court and Tennis court, saying that both infrastructure was constructed in a low standard.
The stakeholder further explained that the commission boss used veto power to install the new Chairman of Kwara United after the expiration of the Kumbi Titiloye’s administration in May.
He, however, commended the Executive Governor of the State for not giving the renovation to inexperienced contractor.
As of the time gathering this report, the Executive Chairman of the commission is not reachable, with report stating that he’s at the inauguration of Sport Associations at the Indoor Sport Hall.
