Head coach of Kwara United FC, Tunde Sanni has said the important draw his team had against Enugu Rangers Int’l in the match day 24 of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) will spur the team to more action in the ongoing campaign.
Coach Tunde Sanni made this known in the post match interview with the journalists in Enugu on Sunday.
Kwara United have been struggling in the second stanza of the ongoing campaign forced Enugu Rangers Int’l into a goalless at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Before this encounter between both teams at the Cathedral, The Flying Antelope have won five successive games and conceded none in six consecutive matches.
Coach Sanni affirmed that the team are not safe in the position they are presently, stressing he was surprised finding his team in the position on the log.
“This draw will spur us to more action most especially when we go back home, because the position we are now, we are not safe, we are surprised to meet ourselves at that position” Sanni said.
He also said, the team has young and vibrant players, noting that something went wrong for the team and assuring that lapses in the team will be corrected going forward.
The head coach of Ilorin based side, commented on the outcome of officiating from the match officials in the encounter for using over time, noting that the game should have ended earlier, thanking God the game ended in stalemate.
He said that not having the victory at home has been a major problem for the team, as the team have drawn five matches at home and 11 altogether, saying that the team will go for a win in the next game at home against Bayelsa United.
“Our home is our problem, we don’t know what is happening to our home” said Sanni.
He further reiterated that, he could not ascertain the problem but promised that with time the narrative will change for the team.
Coach Tunde Sanni, assured that Kwara United will survive the relegation as the team is coming up, starting with the draw against Enugu Rangers Int’l.
“We are going to survive, do we look like a team that is supposed to go on relegation” Tunde commented.
With the draw against Enugu Rangers Int’l, Kwara United remain in the 17th position on the log with 26 points after 23 games with an outstanding match against Rivers United.
Coach Tunde Sanni, however concluded that the team is ready to stay in the apex league.
