Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has been nominated for the best FIFA Men’s player 2023.
Osimhen became one of the most highly rated strikers last season when his goals helped Napoli to a first Serie A title in 33 years.
He scored 26 league goals for Napoli last season, helping Italian champions to quarter-finals of the Champions League and also scoring 10 goals in just concluded AFCON qualifiers for Nigeria to seal their qualifications for the tournament.
During his time in Italy, he has scored 62 goals from 104 appearances for his current club.
Napoli striker is the only African player to made the cut for the awards and will be vying against UEFA Men’s player of the year Erling Haaland, World Cup winner and Argentina captain Lionel Messi, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernado Silva, and others.
Last week Osimhen was also on the 30 Man lists for 2023 Ballon’dor.
