We Are Back In NNL Says ABS Boss, Vows To Be In NPFL In Six Months

Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, seasoned administrator, journalist and Director of Football, DOF, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, ABS, football Club, has stated that the club has not only returned to the Nigerian National League, NNL, from where it was relegated last season at the Kano Play-off in August, but also, it is looking forward to booking a place in the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL, the country’s equivalent of English Premier League, EPL, in just six months.

He made the ambitious statement on Saturday in Ilorin, while also unvailing, Umar Danlami Kwasau, the sweat marchant tasked with the job of marshalling the club to achieve the goal. Chief Chukwuemeka, at the elaborately professional unavailing ceremony, said that ABS returned to the second biggest soccer league in the country after it bought DMD Maiduguri FC’s slot and would be campaigning vigorously in the new season.

“When we got relegated in Sokoto, last season, we gave assurance that we will be back in the national league soon.

“We had options. One was to maneuver within the NLO 1, taking advantage of the environment and the experience we have over the lesser experienced team.

“The second option is to look for any slot available, just like we bought that of Kwara United from Delta Force, so we were able to get the slot of GMD of Maiduguri.

” We negotiated the terms and we took over immediately. We got this with the support of his excellency Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki,” the ABS boss said.

He further explained that the decision of the owners of the club and the management to regain the club’s professional status was as a result of the yearning of the fans and supporters that ABS FC is too big a club to play in the amateur centre.

“On this note, we want to specially thank the proprietor of the club Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki for his support in this regard and for making ABS FC a platform for the growth of youths and football development

“Secondly we want to officially unveil our new technical advisor Coach Danladi Umar who will today sign a one season contract with club and with a special mandate to immediately take the club to the top elite league the Nigeria Professional Football League,” he added.
